About the Profiles Resource

You use the Profiles resource to create data sources, profile definitions, and site terms. You use profile definitions to collect user and business data from your Commerce Server 2000 Web site. You use data sources to map the data collected with profile definitions to the column and table in the database (or attribute and class in a Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) source) where that data will be stored. You create site terms to provide choices for users when they enter personal preferences or other information on your Web site.
