Smooth Streaming Presentation Page

Use the Smooth Streaming Presentation page to modify a Smooth Streaming presentation and manage its available bit rates.

UI Element List

The following tables describe the UI elements that are available on the feature page and in the Actions pane.

Attributes

Use the Attributes area to specify a title for the presentation. Careful wording of the title lets you easily distinguish this presentation from others that are displayed on the Smooth Streaming Presentations page.

Element Name Description

File name

Displays the file name of the presentation manifest (a file that has an .ism file name extension).

Duration

Displays the length of the presentation, in hours:minutes:seconds.

Title

Enter a title for the presentation that will help you distinguish it from other presentations that are displayed on the Smooth Streaming Presentations page.

Files

Use the Files area to view and modify the bit rates that are available for this presentation. You can sort the list of media files by clicking one of the Files area column headings.

Element Name Description

Media Type

Displays the file type (either audio or video) that is included in the presentation.

File Name

Displays the name of the media file that is included in the presentation.

Bit Rate

Displays the encoded bit rate of the media file, in kilobits per second (Kbps).

Attributes

Displays any optional attributes in the param element of the audio, video, or textstream media entries in the Smooth Streaming presentation manifest (.ism). Administrators can add these optional attributes, such as the hardware profile and the timescale required to decode the stream, to differentiate media files that have the same file name and quality level. Use the following UI element to remove bit rates from this presentation.

Note

Because a valid presentation must contain at least one audio file and one video file, you cannot remove the last instance of these file types. To remove the whole presentation, including all its available bit rates, see the Smooth Streaming Presentations page in IIS Manager.

Remove

Removes the selected bit rate from the presentation.

Apply

Applies the changes that you made to the presentation.

Cancel

Cancels the changes that you made to the presentation.
