Step 10: Verify Business Desk and Supplier Site Configuration

In this verification procedure, you use Business Desk to create a new user who is an administrator, and then you create a delegated administrator at the Supplier site.

To verify Business Desk and Supplier Site Configuration

  1. On the Business Desk client computer (Computer 2), log on as a domain administrator.
  2. Install Business Desk by navigating to the URL http://<Webservername>/supplieradbizdesk.
  3. In the Profiles module of Business Desk, click Users and add a new user (for example, Sean Chai). For instructions on adding a user, see Adding a User Profile.
  4. Search for the new user by typing * in the search field, and then click Find Now. If the new user appears in the list of results, then Business Desk is properly integrated with Active Directory for storing user profiles.
  5. Navigate to the URL http://<Webservername>/SupplierAD.
  6. At the login page, type the user name and password. Use the Domain\Username or User Principal Name (UPN) format when specifying the user name. If you are not a registered user, click the link at the bottom of the page (you must add a custom registration page on which you can create accounts in Active Directory).

The Login.asp page sets the MSCSAuth ticket for the registered user, retrieves the user profile, validates credentials (if required), and populates the default Web page using the user profile. If the username or password are invalid, or if the profile could not be found, the Login.asp page is displayed again (requiring the user to login or register).

If Business Desk and the Supplier Solution Site are configured properly, continue to Step 11: Edit ASP Files.
