Business Desk does not install

When you attempt to connect to the Commerce Server Business Desk Web site to install the Business Desk client, the following message might appear.

Solution

If you are using Windows XP and Internet Explorer 6.0, you must enable Download signed Active Xcontrols and Download Unsigned ActiveX controls.

If you are using another operating system and Internet Explorer, enable only Download signed Active Xcontrols.

To continue the Business Desk setup

  1. In Internet Explorer, click Tools, and then click Internet Options.
  2. Click the Security tab, select Local intranet zone and click Custom Level.
  3. In the Settings list box, below ActiveX controls and plug-ins, enable Download signed ActiveX controls. If you are using Windows XP and Internet Explorer 6.0, also enable Download Unsigned ActiveX controls and Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe.
  4. Click OK, and in the Warning! dialog box click Yes.
  5. Click OK to close the Internet Options dialog box.
  6. Click Refresh on the toolbar, and then continue installing Business Desk by typing the URL for Business Desk into the browser window. For example, http://<servername>/myretailbizdesk.
