Deleting a Category from a Catalog

You use the Catalog Editor module to delete a category from a catalog. When you delete a category from a catalog, any category that is associated with it, by either relationship or hierarchy, is affected. If this category is associated with products through category pricing, those products will be affected when you delete the category. For example, if you want to remove a category called "Just $5" and you have 15 CDs that use this category as their pricing category, these CDs will revert to the price that you assigned to them at the product level once the category is deleted.

To delete a category from a catalog

  1. In Catalogs, click Catalog Editor.

  2. In the Catalogs screen, select the catalog from which you want to delete a category, and then click Open on the toolbar.

  3. In the Catalog - <Catalog Name> screen, in the Categories section, select the category you want to delete, and then click Delete.

  1. To return to the Catalogs screen, click Back on the toolbar.

After you make your changes, you must refresh and publish your Web site in order for your changes to appear on your site. For information about refreshing and publishing your changes, see Refreshing and Publishing a Catalog.
