Changing a Service Account or Password

When you install Commerce Server, you specify Windows user names and passwords for the Commerce Server services: List Manager, Direct Mailer, Predictor, and a Windows account to use for Event Logging. If the password for one of these Windows accounts is changed or you want to change one of the Windows accounts being used, you need to specify this change in the Windows Services console. You must update the account and password there for each of the three services.

To change the account for Event Logging, you need to use the Component Services snap-in.

To change a service account or password

1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Services.

2. On the Services window, right-click the Commerce Server service for which you want to change the account name or password, and then click Properties.

3. Click the Log On tab.

4. On the Log On tab, do the following:

   Use this To do this

   This account

   Password

   Confirm password

5. Click OK.

To change the account or password for Event Logging

1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Component Services.

2. Expand Component Services, expand Computers, expand My Computer, and then expand COM+ Application.

3. Right-click Commerce Event Logging, and then click Properties.

4. In the Identity tab, type the user name and password, and then click OK.
