Finding a User Profile

You use the Users module to search your Web site for a user profile or a group of user profiles. You can use the Find pane to narrow your search by using the properties of the profile definition and the values in the profile you are searching for. For example, you can search for a user profile that contains the value "Mike," in the profile property "First Name." The Filtered View list below the Find pane contains all the user profiles that match your search criteria.

You must have access to the Profiles modules to make changes to site terms, profile definitions, and profiles. For information about Business Desk permissions, see About Business Desk Security.

    • You can include a wildcard entry (*) to match any number of characters in your search. For example, t* matches any user whose name begins with the letter "t".

  • When searching for user profiles, it is important to restrict your search criteria to control the number of user profiles matching your search parameters. If a large number of user profiles match your search criteria, the results could cause a significant decrease in your Commerce Server Business Desk performance.

The search is performed. If your search is successful, the user profiles you searched for appear in the Filtered View list. If your search is not successful, the message, "No items match this search" appears.
