Adding Product Variants to a Product

You can assign product variants to products in your catalog. For example, the product variants for a T-shirt might include color and size. A large, blue T-shirt would be one variant of the T-shirt product family. A small, blue T-shirt would be another variant.

To add product variants to a product

  1. Verify that the product definition on which the product is based has been defined to include product variants. Each product variant must have a unique ID. For information about editing product definitions, see Editing a Catalog Product Definition.

  2. In Catalogs, click Catalog Editor.

  3. In the Catalogs screen, select the catalog to which you want to add product variants, and then click Open on the toolbar.

  4. In the Catalog Editor - <Catalog Name> screen, in the Products section, click Find Now to show all products.

  5. Select the product to which you want to add product variants, and then click Edit.

  6. In the Catalog Editor - <Catalog Name> (product) screen, in the Product Variants section, click New.

  7. In the Product Variants section, in the Variant price box, type the price for the product.

  8. Enter the properties in the boxes, including a unique value for the unique identifier property, such as stock-keeping unit (SKU) number, and then click Done.

    The product variant information appears in the Product Variants table.

  9. To save the changes and return to the Catalogs screen, click Save and go back on the toolbar.

  10. To publish the new product variants, click Publish a catalog on the toolbar.

The updated catalog is published on your Web site.
