OLAP/SQL Server requires Windows NT Authentication

If you connect remotely to an SQL Server computer from a different domain or workgroup, Commerce Server Site Packager will fail when it attempts to make the OLE DB for online analytical processing (OLAP) connection for the Data Warehouse.

Solution

The OLE DB for online analytical processing (OLAP) connection for the Data Warehouse requires Microsoft Windows NT authentication.

To establish this, you must create an identical account on the workgroup SQL Server computer, for example, <computername>\share, so that <computername>\share can connect to the Data Warehouse.

  • If SQL Server is in a trusted domain, the domain account must be part of the OLAP Administrative account.
