Configuration Data

The EditSheet HTC requires that its configuration information be passed to it in the form of an Extensible Markup Language (XML) data-island. This information consists primarily of details about each editable field to be displayed. For example, the type of the data in the field, the name to use as the field label, and the element name used for the corresponding data in the DataXML data-island. In addition, there is some global configuration information, such as whether the EditSheet should be initially displayed as opened or closed.

The configuration XML data-island is also known as the MetaXML data-island.

For detailed information about the structure of this XML data-island, see EditSheet Configuration.

For more information about the ways in which an XML document can be included on a page (creating an XML data-island), see XML Data-Islands.
