After the installation of Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010, you must perform an initial configuration. If you are using different languages in the server farm, ensure that you install the correct language packs on your Web servers. Next, you can start to configure server farm settings. The configuration of additional settings is optional, but many key features are not available unless these settings are configured.
