Property Value

The ConnectionRetryTimeout value, with a default value of 120 seconds.

Remarks

The ConnectionRetryTimeout property allows you to specify an amount of time that the SQL Server Compact Edition client will attempt to recover from a failed connection. This property only applies to situations when the initial connection has succeeded and then the connection has been destroyed. If recovery occurs during the specified duration, the operation (Push, Pull, or SubmitSql) continues. If the ConnectionRetryTimeout occurs before the connection is reestablished, the operation fails.

Because of other network influences, the ConnectionRetryTimeout setting is only an approximation of the actual time that will lapse before the synchronization is abandoned.

The maximum timeout allowed is 900 seconds. For recommendations on setting this timeout value, see "Optimizing Connectivity" in the SQL Server Compact Edition Books Online.
