The Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Management Pack for System Center Operations Manager monitors the Windows Application log on computers running Exchange 2010 and generates this alert when the events specified in the following Details table are logged.

Explanation

This Error event indicates that an attempt to move an Exchange mailbox failed. The error message specifies the cause of this event.

User Action

To resolve this error, follow these steps:

  • Use the error message specified in the event description to help you diagnose the problem. For example, an error message that reads "Access Denied" may indicate a problem with administrative permissions. For more information, see Troubleshooting Mailbox Moves.

  • Review the Application log for other events that occurred at the same time as this event to help determine the cause. For example, an event that informs you about a problem contacting a specific server may indicate a problem with network connectivity. You can use the Ping or PathPing command-line tools to test basic connectivity from the Exchange server to one of the domain controllers. Use Ping to isolate network hardware problems and incompatible configurations. Use PathPing to detect packet loss over multiple-hop trips.   • Review the Application log on the other server involved in the mailbox move. For example, if the error is related to the Microsoft Exchange Information Store (MSExchangeIS) service on another server, check the Application log on the other server for MSExchangeIS events that may provide more information about this error.
