Prerequisites
To troubleshoot NIS issues, you must be familiar with the following Forefront TMG procedures:
Keeping NIS constantly updated with the latest known vulnerabilities signatures, which are provided by Microsoft Update. For information on the available update methods, see Planning for updates of protection definitions.
Checking whether NIS signatures are up to date. For information, see Managing NIS signatures.
Reviewing NIS policy. For information, see Enabling and configuring NIS.
Checking NIS alerts. In the Forefront TMG Management console, alerts are displayed on the Alerts tab of the Monitoring node. For information, see Monitoring alerts.
