Windows event log (FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint)

The local log server outputs log messages from local processes to the FAST Search Windows event log folder. The main log server running on the FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint administration server outputs aggregated logs from all nodes to the FAST Search Farm event log folder. The event log messages from the farm are prefixed with the host name of the log message source.

The built-in Windows tool Event Viewer displays these event log folders within the Application and Services Logs node. To quickly get an overview of a multi-node search installation, log in to the administration server and inspect the log messages in the FAST Search Farm folder, which will contain log messages from all search servers.

The Windows event log is accessible using System Center Operations Manager 2007, scripting, .NET, Windows PowerShell, Win32 APIs, third party tools, etc.
