Field setting

Select to allocate from a main account or a financial dimension.

If you selected Financial dimension in the Field setting field, select the name of the financial dimension.

Source criteria

Enter the main account or financial dimension information to allocate from.

You can enter wildcard characters to specify all main accounts or financial dimensions, or a specified range or list of them. You can also enter BLANK for financial dimension values.

You want to allocate a utility expense, such as the telephone and fax expense. The chart of accounts is set up so that a main account that starts with 61 defines the main account as a utility expense. You could define the source criteria in one of the following ways.

  • 61* – All accounts that start with 61

  • 6100..6110 – All accounts in the range from 6100 to 6110

  • 6100, 6110 – Accounts 6100 or 6110

If you select the Department financial dimension and enter source criteria of Admin,””, information that includes the Admin dimension value or a blank dimension value for the Department financial dimension is displayed.
