Applies to: Groove Server 2010
Topic Last Modified: 2011-08-05
This article describes how to track Manager server events in the server log from a Groove Server Manager report, or in the Windows Event Viewer.
This procedure requires that Groove Server Manager is installed as described in Install and configure Groove Server 2010 Manager.
In this article:
The Groove Server Manager Server Log report lets you monitor server and domain events, such as when a user is added to the server. The server log also reports an event when the Manager server cannot connect to an onsite Relay server or Active Directory server. To view the server log
Log on to the Groove Server Manager administrative Web site and select the server from the navigation pane. The Reports tab displays the Server Log report.
Use the Period drop-down menu and date pickers to define a report period.
To customize the view or report, use the display and Filter tools, as described in Generating Groove Server Manager reports.
Click the Display Report button to display the report. For details about the information in Manager server reports, see Groove Server Manager reports reference.
The Groove Server Manager reports errors to the Application Log section of the Windows Event Viewer. Error codes displayed in the Event Viewer correspond to Win32 error codes (codes up to 10,000), or Winsock error codes (codes above 10,000). Proficiency with kernel debugging is required to understand these error codes. Event Viewer error entries can help diagnose server problems. If you encounter problems that require assistance from Microsoft Support, you may be asked to supply Event Viewer information. To use the Event Viewer for Groove Server Manager monitoring
From the Start menu, select Administrative Tools, and then select Event Viewer.
Select a log, such as Windows Logs, and look for GrooveManagementServer in the event list.
Use the Event Viewer tools and options to filter logs and to create custom views, as described in Event Viewer (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=182936).
