Explanation

Scenario 1: A known issue exists on computers that have a prior installation of SQL Server 2008 R2. A previous installation will sometimes cause SQL Server Setup to fail with the following error: “Could not load assembly ‘Microsoft.AnalysisServices.SharePoint.Integration.dll’”. If you get this error, use the steps in either of the following article to resolve the issue: Installation failure: “Could not load file or assembly ‘Microsoft.AnalysisServices.SharePoint.Integration.dll’ or Error message when you install SQL Server 2008 R2 before you run the PreRequisiteInstaller.exe tool.

Scenario 2: This error can also occur if one of the solutions is not deployed correctly. PowerPivot for SharePoint uses solution packages to deploy its features on a SharePoint server. If the solution failed to deploy, this error appears whenever you try to open PowerPivot Gallery or other PowerPivot application pages on a SharePoint site.

User Action

Scenario 2: Deploy the solution package.

  1. In Central Administration, in System Settings, click Manage farm solutions.

  2. Click Powerpivotwebapp.

  3. Click Deploy Solution.

  4. Choose the web application for which this error is occurring. If there is more than one web application, redeploy the solution for all of hem.

  5. Click OK.
