iSCSI Ping Test (HBA)
Note This content applies to the Windows Logo Kit (WLK). For the latest information using the new Windows Hardware Certification Kit (HCK), see Windows HCK User's Guide on the Windows Hardware Dev Center.
Type: Manual Test
Overview
The iSCSI Ping (HBA) test verifies that iSCSI initiators (HBA) can send and receive ping requests.
Details
This test operates in two phases:
The first phase verifies that the HBA responds to ping requests by sending a ICMP echo packets to the HBA by using a network card in the test system.
The second phase verifies the HBA can send ICMP echo packets to another address, which in this case is the network card in the test system.

Windows Logo Program: STORAGE-0002 Storage host controllers and adapters comply with industry standards and Windows requirements
Additional Information: Test: This test checks an iSCSI target or initiator's ability to respond to an echo request initiated by the host to the device being tested. This test is run five times against the device being tested. Apply: Sends ICMP Echo packets with a request buffer size of 32 bytes.Expect: The device being tested returns an ICMP Echo Reply packet with the same 32 bytes of data issued in the original request.
2 The device being tested must be able to send multiple ICMP Echo Reply packets to the host.
