Issue

The registry setting for tuning the number of TCP table partitions in TCP/IP is enabled on this server.

Impact

This registry setting is ignored by this version of Windows and is consuming a small amount of extra space in the registry.

Resolution

Use Registry Editor to delete the registry setting.

Membership in the local Administrators group, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure.

To delete the registry setting for tuning the number of TCP table partitions in TCP/IP

  1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and click OK.

  2. Locate and then click to select the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters.

  3. Right-click the setting NumTCPTablePartitions and click Delete.
