Surface Area Configuration for Reporting Services
You can use the following Surface Area Configuration policies to evaluate the default surface area settings for Reporting Services.

Surface Area Configuration for Reporting Services 2008 Features
You can import these policy files from the following default location:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools\Policies\ReportingServices\LocaleID
Note
LocaleID represents the identifier for the language. For example, 1033 is U.S. English.
Surface Area Configuration for Reporting Services 2005 Features Policies
The Surface Area Configuration for Reporting Services 2005 policy checks for default surface area settings for Reporting Services 2005 features that can be accessed by using WMI. The policy evaluates whether the following properties are set to True.
We recommend that you disable these features if they are not being used.

Reporting Services uses schedules to trigger subscriptions, report cache expirations, and report snapshot executions. Enable scheduled events and report delivery if you schedule these operations. |

The Report Server Web service can receive SOAP requests and URL access requests. Enable Web service and HTTP access only if client applications use the Web service or if you use Report Manager, Report Builder, or with this Reporting Services installation. |
