Changes to CPU and memory limits for SQL Server Standard Edition

SQL Server 2012 Standard edition supports a maximum of 64 gigabytes of system memory.

Description

Beginning with SQL Server 2008 R2, SQL Server Standard edition supports a maximum of 64 gigabytes of system memory. In SQL Server versions earlier than SQL Server 2008 R2, SQL Server Standard supported the operating system maximum memory.

Note

If you are upgrading from SQL Server 2005 Standard or SQL Server 2008 Standard, you may need to reconfigure your current system settings to align with the new limits.
