Configure RIP

Instead of manually configuring static routes, you can use Routing Information Protocol (RIP) to manage routes on the following:

  • Each LAN interface.

  • Each demand-dial interface that is used for a persistent site-to-site connection.

If you use RIP, you must configure each new LAN interface or demand-dial interface to use RIP, because, typically, each interface is connected to a different subnet.
