How to Disable a Rule in System Center Essentials

Use the following procedure to disable a rule in Essentials 2007. If a rule is from a sealed Management Pack it cannot be disabled. Use overrides to adjust the configuration of a rule from a sealed Management Pack. For more information about overrides, see Overrides.

To disable a rule

  1. In the Essentials 2007 console, click the Authoring button.

  2. In the Authoring pane, expand Authoring, expand Management Pack Objects, and then click Rules.

  3. In the Rules pane, right-click the rule you want to disable, and then click Disable.

    Note

    Use the same procedure to enable a disabled rule. Instead of clicking Disable, click Enable.
