RD Virtualization Host Migration: Post-Migration Tasks

This topic includes the steps that can be taken after the RD Virtualization Host role service migration is complete. See the following sections for post-migration procedures:

Run a pilot program

Retire the RD Virtualization Host server after migration

The RD Virtualization Host source server is removed from the domain during the migration. You can shut down the server to finish retiring the source server.

Note

If there is more than one role service on the server that you are taking out of use, after removing the source server from the domain, you will not have access to any other role services on that computer.

Restore the RD Virtualization Host server

This section describes how to restore the RD Virtualization Host server in the event of migration failure by rolling back the migration.

The migration can be rolled back if the source server is still available in the state it was in after the migration was completed. To roll back the migration of an RD Virtualization Host server, return the source computer to service by using the steps in RD Virtualization Host Migration: Migrating the RD Virtualization Host Role Service.

Verify that the restoration succeeded by using the steps in RD Virtualization Host Migration: Verifying the Migration.
