Manage profile synchronization (Duet Enterprise)

Applies to: Duet Enterprise for Microsoft SharePoint and SAP

This article describes the procedures that farm administrators perform on a recurring basis to keep the user profiles synchronized between the Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 farm and the SAP system. This article assumes that a SharePoint administrator has started the User Profile Synchronization service and has created a Profile synchronization connection to the Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) service that contains the user accounts that are used by the SharePoint Server farm. For information about how to complete these procedures, see Configure profile synchronization (SharePoint Server 2010) (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkID=202966).

In this article:

  • Synchronize SAP user profiles with the SharePoint User Profile Store

Synchronize SAP user profiles with the SharePoint User Profile Store

We recommend that you complete this procedure at least one time per week to synchronize the SAP profile store with the SharePoint User Profile Store.

Before you start this procedure, do the following:

  • Ensure that the SAP administrator has configured SAML to create an endpoint.

To synchronize user profiles

  1. Verify that you have the following administrative credentials:

    • You must be a member of the Farm Administrators group or an administrator of the User Profile Service Application to perform this procedure.
  2. Verify that you have included the Microsoft Business Connectivity Services connections for synchronization:

    • In Central Administration, on the Quick Launch, click Application Management.

    • In the Service Applications section, click Manage service applications.

    • In the Name column, click the link for the User Profile Service Application that you are using for Duet Enterprise.

    • On the Manage Profile Service: <name of your User Profile Service Application> page, in the Synchronization section, click Configure Synchronization Settings.

    • In the Synchronize BCS Connections section, select the Include existing BCS connections for synchronization check box.

    • Click OK.

  3. Follow the instructions in Start profile synchronization manually (SharePoint Server 2010) (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkID=201163) to synchronize user profile information.

    Note

If this is the first time that you have run a profile synchronization, start a full synchronization. Otherwise, you can start an incremental synchronization.
