How to Add the Solution Package to the Solution Store

Applies To: System Center Service Manager 2010 SP1

Use the following procedure to configure SharePoint Services for use with Self-Service Portal.

To add the solution package to the solution store

  1. Download the Service Manager Enduser Webparts file to your computer from the blog Deploying the Service Manager Self-Service Portal web parts with SharePoint Services 3.0 (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=191026).

  2. Open a Command Prompt window and change directories to %COMMONPROGRAMFILES%\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\12\bin.

  3. Type the command stsadm -o addsolution –filename <path to the wsp file> where <path to the wsp file> is the path to the location where you saved the ServiceManager.EnduserWebparts.wsp file you downloaded in step 1.

  4. When Operation completed successfully is displayed, type exit to close the Command Prompt window.

  5. On the Windows desktop, click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click SharePoint 3.0 Central Administration.

  6. In the Central Administration pane, click Operations.

  7. In the Operations pane, in the Global Configuration area, click Solution management.

  8. Observe that servicemanager.enduserwebparts.wsp is listed. Click servicemanager.enduserwebparts.wsp.

  9. In the Solution Properties pane, click Deploy Solution, and then click OK.
