Unable to generate a unique '%1' e-mail address type for '%2'.

Explanation

This Error event indicates that a unique e-mail address of one of the valid address types could not be generated for a specific user.

User Action

To resolve this error, follow one or more of these steps:

  1. Examine the e-mail address policies associated with the address type shown in the error.

  2. Use the rules for the specific address type to calculate the e-mail address that would be produced for the user who is identified in the error.

  3. Search Active Directory for the e-mail addresses that you calculated in the previous step.

  4. When the duplicate user is identified, manually set one of the e-mail addresses to be unique. Alternatively, calculate a different e-mail address rule for the address type listed in the error to prevent duplicates in future operations.
