Client Access server "%1" tried to proxy Outlook Web App traffic to Client Access server "%2". This failed for user "%3" because this user is a member of too many groups. Outlook Web App limits group membership when proxying to "%4".

Explanation

This Error event indicates that Microsoft Office Outlook Web App could not proxy a request from a computer that is running the Client Access server role to a Client Access server that is located in a different Active Directory site. This occurred because the Outlook Web App user is a member of too many Active Directory groups.

User Action

To resolve this error, do one or more of the following:

  • Reduce the number of Active Directory groups that the user is a member of.

  • Contact a Microsoft Support professional to resolve this issue. To contact a Microsoft Support professional, visit the Exchange Server Solutions Center. In the navigation pane, click Assisted Support Options and use one of the assisted support options to contact a Microsoft Support professional. Because your organization may have a specific procedure for directly contacting Microsoft Product Support Services, be sure to review your organization's guidelines first.
