Set a goal

You can set up goals for workers and then track the progress on the goals for each worker as part of a performance plan.

  1. Click Human resources > Common > Workers > Workers. Select the worker to create a goal for. In the Action Pane, click Worker tab > Related information group > Development > Goal details.

  2. Enter a name for the goal.

  3. Enter a description of the goal.

  4. Select the goal type.

    Tip

    Goal types are maintained in the Goal types form. For more information, see Goal types (form).

  5. Select the goal heading.

    Tip

    Goal headings are maintained in the Goal headings form. For more information, see Goal headings (form).

  6. Expand the General FastTab.

  7. Enter the weight of the goal. The weight of a goal indicates the importance of the goal compared to other goals.

  8. Enter the starting and ending dates for the period when the person is to achieve the goal.

  9. In the Measure field group, select the measurement and target that the worker must achieve to complete the goal.

  10. If you track time and costs associated with completing a goal, enter the amount of time that it will take the worker to complete the goal and the estimated cost associated with completing the goal.

  11. On the Activities FastTab, add activities to the goal.

  12. On the Comments FastTab, add comments to the goal. For example, you can add a comment that includes additional information about the goal for the worker. For more information, see Add comments to goals.
