Microsoft iSCSI Software Target 3.3 introduces several new and updated features for Windows Server® 2008 R2. This topic summarizes the following features:

  • Windows PowerShell® cmdlet support: Enables configuration task automation.

  • Dynamic disk support: Helps you configure iSCSI virtual disks as dynamic disks by using the iSCSI initiator.

  • Differencing virtual disk support: Enables the use of iSCSI boot nodes in a failover cluster running Windows HPC Server 2008 R2.

  • Improved scalability: Supports several hundred iSCSI initiators for the Windows HPC Server 2008 R2 environment.
