Single Instance Storage Cmdlets in Windows PowerShell

This reference provides cmdlet descriptions and syntax for all Single Instance Storage (SIS)-specific PowerShell cmdlets used in Windows Storage Server 2008 R2. The SIS PowerShell cmdlets provide an alternative to tasks that you would otherwise perform with command-line commands or the Share and Storage Management snap-in.

SIS PowerShell Cmdlets

The following table lists the Windows PowerShell cmdlets that Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 provides for SIS:

Cmdlet Description

Disable-SisVolume

Disables and stops the Groveler service on SIS volumes.

Enable-SisVolume

Enables and starts the Groveler service on SIS volumes.

Get-SisLinkFile

Gets the SIS links and their properties.

Get-SisVolume

Gets the SIS volumes and their states.

Get-SisVolumeReport

Creates a report for SIS volumes on the local computer.

Install-SisVolume

Installs SIS on specified volumes.

Set-SisVolume

Sets the groveling mode of the Groveler service on SIS volumes.

Start-SisVolumeRescan

Instructs the SIS Groveler service to begin a full scan of the SIS volumes.

Uninstall-SisVolume

Uninstalls SIS from volumes.
