Default indexing connector protocols (FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint)

Applies to: FAST Search Server 2010

This article lists the indexing connector protocols that are installed by default in Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 and are used when you crawl content with the FAST Search Content Search Service Application or people profiles with the FAST Search Query Search Service Application. SharePoint Server 2010 uses indexing connector protocols to connect to different content repositories so that the content in that repository can be crawled. You can install additional indexing connector protocols to crawl content created by other Microsoft products or third-party software. For more information, see Content sources that require additional configuration (FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint). You can also develop additional connectors by using the SharePoint Server search connector framework. For more information, see SharePoint Server Search Connector Framework (MSDN).
