This page of the Table Import Wizard enables you to specify additional property settings for a data source connection. To access the wizard from the SQL Server Data Tools, on the Model menu, click Import from Data Source.

  • Providers
    Select the provider to use for the data source connection. To connect to a data source, you must have the appropriate provider installed on your computer.

  • Connection String
    The settings that the model designer uses when establishing a connection to a data source. This information is useful in troubleshooting connections.

  • Test Connection
    Attempt to establish a connection to the data source using the current settings. A message is displayed indicating whether the connection is successful.
