Viewing and Managing Reports

The Microsoft Forefront Protection Server Management Console (FPSMC) can collect information from the managed servers and generate reports on a variety of Forefront Protection-related topics. The four available reports are:

The Incident Detection, Spam Detection, and Engine and Definition Versions reports are all accessed from the Reports section of the Navigation Area. You can access the New Servers report by clicking New Servers, located in the Home section of the Navigation Area.

Another way to access the reports is to create a Schedule Report job, which will email the four reports to specified email addresses on a specific interval. For more information about the Schedule Reports job, see Schedule Report Jobs.

The FPSMC regularly polls all of the managed servers to collect data about scanner activity, engine versions, and SMTP traffic. The polling interval is set in the Global Configuration work pane. For more information, see Configuring Global Configuration Settings.

Tip

You can run more granular reports by creating server groups according to the roles of the managed servers and running reports for these specific groups. For more information about server groups, see Configuring Server Groups.
