Updated: August 26, 2011

Applies To: Windows MultiPoint Server 2011

In addition to monitoring user activities on individual desktops, you, as an administrative user, can limit user access to specified websites when you are using Windows Internet Explorer 7 or later.

To limit web access on a station

  1. In MultiPoint Manager, click the Desktops tab.

  2. Click the thumbnail image of the user station on which you want to limit web access.

  3. Under Selected Item Tasks, click Limit web access on this station. The Configure Web Limiting page opens. Sites that the user can access are listed.

  4. To add an allowed site, type the web address, and then click Add.

Note

The website URL must be a valid URL (for example, https://www.contoso.com), and can contain either https:// or https://. In this case, a URL can also contain certain wildcards. For example, https://*.contoso.com (any site appended with .<name>.com is permitted. An example is if you have a company that uses www.contoso.com, and you decide to add a blog to your company website, such as https://blog.contoso.com). Additionally, certain one-character wildcards are permitted. For example, www.consoto.? or www.contoso.a.

  1. To remove a web address from the list of allowed sites, click the web address you want to remove access to, and then click Remove.
