Create a homegroup

To create a homegroup for your network

1. Open the Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 Essentials Dashboard.

2. Click Server settings. The Server Settings page appears.

3. Click HomeGroup.

4. On the Do you want to create a homegroup? page, click Create homegroup. The Create a Homegroup Wizard appears.

5. Select the level of access that you want users to have for the shared folders on the server. If you do not want users to have access to a folder, select No access for that folder.

6. Click Create homegroup. The wizard creates a homegroup and displays the homegroup password.

7. Write down the homegroup password, and use the password to add computers that are running Windows 7 to the homegroup.
