To join the server to an existing homegroup

  1. Open the Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 Essentials Dashboard.

  2. Click Server settings. The Server Settings page appears.

  3. Click HomeGroup.

  4. On the Do you want to join a homegroup? page, click Join now. The Join a Homegroup Wizard appears.

  5. Type the homegroup password, and then click Join now.

  6. Select the level of access that you want users to have for the shared folders on the server. If you do not want users to have access to a folder, select No access for that folder.

  7. Click Share now.
