Change how the data map looks

After data is mapped, you can change many aspects of how the data is displayed.

To change the map type

  1. Select the data set name in the map legend, and then on the Data menu, click Map Type.

  2. Click the map type to which you want this data set changed.

  3. Click Finish.

Note   Depending on the new map type, you may also need to choose the data fields to display on the map.

To change the data fields that are displayed on the map

Note   This procedure applies to all map types except Pushpin maps.

  1. Select the data set name in the map legend, and on the Data menu, click Data Fields.

  2. Select the new data fields to map.

    How?

  3. Click Finish.

To change the ranges that are displayed on the map

Note   This procedure applies to all map types except Pushpin and Pie Chart maps.

  1. Select the data set name in the map legend, and then on the Data menu, click Format legend.

  2. Change how ranges are displayed on the map.

    How?

  3. Click Finish.

To change the legend labels that are displayed for chart map types

  1. Select the data set name in the map legend, and then on the Data menu, click Format legend.

  2. Click Next to display the second Legend page of the Data Mapping Wizard.

    Note   You will not have to click Next if you are using a Pie Chart map.

  3. Change the labels for displayed data fields.

  4. Click Finish.
