Viewing or Modifying Certificate Properties

Membership in the local Administrators group, or equivalent, on the RD Gateway server that you plan to configure, is the minimum required to complete this procedure. Review details about using the appropriate accounts and group memberships at Local and Domain Default Groups (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=83477).

To view or modify certificate properties

  1. On the RD Gateway server, open Remote Desktop Gateway Manager. To open Remote Desktop Gateway Manager, click Start, point to Administrative Tools, point to Remote Desktop Services, and then click Remote Desktop Gateway Manager.

  2. In the Remote Desktop Gateway Manager console tree, right-click the local RD Gateway server, and then click Properties.

  3. In the Properties dialog box for the RD Gateway server, on the SSL Certificate tab, click Select an existing certificate from the RD Gateway*<RD Gateway Server Name>*Certificates (Local Computer)/Personal store, where <RD Gateway Server Name> is the name for the computer on which the RD Gateway server is running.

  4. Click Import Certificate, and then do one of the following in the Import Certificate dialog box:

    • To map a different certificate to the RD Gateway server, select the certificate that you want this RD Gateway server to use, and then click Import. On the SSL Certificates tab, review the Issued to, Issued by, and Expiration date fields to verify that the correct certificate is mapped to the RD Gateway server.

    • To view the properties for a certificate that is installed on the RD Gateway server, select the certificate that you want to view, and then click View Certificate. In the Certificate dialog box, review the certificate properties, click OK to close the Certificate dialog box, and then click Cancel to close the Install Certificate dialog box.

  5. Click OK to close the RD Gateway server Properties dialog box.
