Installing a Standby Compliance Server

You can install as many standby Compliance Servers as your business requires.

To install a standby Compliance Server

  1. Install a standby Compliance Server by first disabling the existing active (primary) Compliance Server.

  2. Use the same installation options that were selected for the active Compliance Server and for setting up the Compliance database. You can use the same database that the active Compliance Server uses or set up a new one.

  3. Do one of the following:

    • To use the same database for the active and standby Compliance Servers, point the standby server to the Compliance database that the active Compliance Server uses.
    • To use a separate database for the standby Compliance Server, install it using the same options that were selected for the active Compliance Server. This scenario prepares you for the loss of both the Compliance Server and access to the database.
