Click Preprocessing upgrade checklist > Prepare application data for preprocessing > Product upgrade > View > Product preview.
Use this form to view how items are mapped to products. You can also use this form to complete tasks for all products or selected products.
Note
Some tasks, such as product mapping and product approval, can be performed both in this form and in the Product upgrade form. However, data in the Product upgrade form displays with the item as the point of departure. In this form, data is displayed with the product as the point of departure.
You can complete the following tasks from this form:
Map items to products.
Approve mappings of all products or selected products, and also reverse the approval for a mapping approval.
Note
You can also approve mappings from the Product upgrade form. However, an approval that is completed in the Product upgrade form applies to all items that are listed in the form. If you work from the Product preview form, you can also approve the mapping of selected products.
Lock products, so that they are excluded from future mappings.
Validate mappings, and view detailed descriptions of validation results, so that you can resolve validation errors.
View various aspects of the mappings, such as product variants, product dimensions, and translations that are associated with the products and product variants.

Details |
View the details of the product mappings that are listed on the Overview tab. |
Mappings |
View the items that are mapped to the product that is selected on the Overview tab. For example, a product can be based on individual items in the original data set. Alternatively, a product can be based on a set of items that have identical names but come from different companies. |

Open a menu that contains the following items:

Product mapping approval |
Approve all mappings or selected mappings, or reverse approvals. Note From this form, you can approve or reverse the approval of selected items only. If you approve or reverse the approval of mappings from the Product upgrade form, the action applies to all of the mappings in the form. |
Product locking |
Lock or unlock all products or selected products. Note Locked products are excluded when mappings are performed. When the mapping of a set of products is complete, you can lock the products. The locked products are not affected if you perform another mapping later. |
Validation |
View the validation results, or repeat the validation of mappings. |
Variants |
View product variants for products of the Product master type. |
Configurations, Sizes, Colors |
View the product's configurations, sizes, and colors. The product's configurations, sizes, and colors are based on the active dimensions of the Configuration, Size, and Color types that are associated with the item in the original data set. |
Translations |
View associated translations of the product name and description. |

Approve product |
Select this check box to include the product in the approval of selected mappings. |
Product number |
The identifier of the product. |
Name |
A descriptive name for the product. |
Search name |
The search name of the product. |
Product subtype |
Indicates whether the item is upgraded to a product master or a distinct product. Items in the original data set that have active dimensions are upgraded to product masters. All other items are upgraded to distinct products. Distinct products are products that do not have variants. Note In the upgraded data set, distinct products are referred to as products, and the product subtype is Product. |
Product type |
Indicates whether the product is of the Item type or the Service type. |
Product dimension group |
The Product dimension group that is derived from the item's Inventory dimension group in the original data set. |
Reuse configurations |
Select this check box to reuse configurations that were previously created. Note This option is only available for a product master that has the Dimension-based configuration technology. |
Generate variants automatically |
Select this check box to indicate that variants can be created automatically when you assign new product dimensions to a product master. Note This option is available for product masters that have the Dimension-based configuration or Predefined variant configuration technology. |
Configuration technology |
View or change the configuration technology. All products of the Product master type are associated with a configuration technology. The configuration technology determines how product variants that are based on a product master are configured.

Item number |
The identifier of the item in the original data set. |
Company |
The identifier of the item's company in the original data set. |
Approve mapping |
A selected check box indicates that the mapping of items to products is approved when you approve or reverse the approval of selected items. Tip Click Product mapping approval to approve or reverse the approval of all items or selected items. |
Dimension group |
The identifier of the item's Inventory dimension group in the original data set. |
