Production flows upgrade (form) [AX 2012]

Click Preprocessing upgrade checklist > Prepare application data for preprocessing. Click Prepare kanbans for migration or Prepare LOS schedules for migration. Click Next version base data, and then click Production flows.

Use this form to create next version production flows and production flow activities that identify and describe your company’s basic business processes for lean manufacturing.

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Create production flow lines. You can also view a list of all production flows.

General

Enter and modify information about the selected production flow.

Dimensions

Select financial dimensions to assign to the production flow.

Button

Description

New

Open the Create new production flow version form to add a new production flow version. Select the Duplicate kanban rules check box to copy kanban rules that reference the existing production flow version to the new version.

Validate

Open the Validate production flow form to validate (but not activate) the production flow version. See Validate production flow upgrade (class form) for more information.

Activation

Select one of the following options:

Recalculate

Open the Recalculate takt times form to recalculate the cycle times for the activities of the production flow version. See Recalculate takt times upgrade (class form) for more information.

Activities

Open the Production flow activities form to view and change the production flow activities that are used in the production flow version. See Production flow activities upgrade (form) for more information.

Field

Description

Name

Enter the identification of the production flow.

Description

Enter the description of the production flow.

Production group

Enter the identification of the production group that the production flow is assigned to. The production group controls how costs are calculated and posted.

Value stream

Select the operating unit that the production flow is assigned to. The operating unit is used when transaction costs are posted to the financial dimensions that are related to the production flow. The operating units that are shown in the look-up form are filtered by the type Value stream. After the production flow is created, you cannot change the value in this field. This field is mandatory.

Dimension field group

View information about financial dimensions, such as the default dimensions and where the dimensions are used in account structures and advanced rule structures.

Version

View the version number that is automatically assigned to the production flow version.

Effective

Select the date when the production flow version is effective.

Expires

Select the date when the production flow version expires.

Plan status

The status of the production flow version. The options are as follows:

  • Active – the production flow version is activated.

  • Draft – the production flow version is not activated.
