Connect to source database (form) [AX 2012]

Click System administration > Setup > Checklists > Data upgrade checklist. Click Connect to source database.

Use this form to connect to the Microsoft Dynamics AX source system that you are upgrading from. After you connect to the source database, you can prepare the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 target system database for upgrade.

The following table provides descriptions for the controls in this form.

Fields

Description

Server name

Enter the name of the database server where the Microsoft Dynamics AX source system database is installed.

Database

Enter the name of the Microsoft Dynamics AX source system database that you want to connect to.
