Batch reservation (form)

Use this form to reserve all, or a portion of an inventory batch for a sales order or a production order.

To open the form

  1. Click Production control > Common > Production orders > All production orders. Double-click the production order with the inventory you want to reserve. On the View tab, on the Journals Action Pane, click Picking list to open the Production journal form.

  2. Click Create New and create the new journal line.

  3. Click Inventory and select Batch reservation.

Overview

View a list of inventory batches referenced in the originating source. Only those batches that have attributes defined or available on-hand inventory appear in the list.

Dimensions display

Open the Dimensions display form to select the dimensions you want to display in the Batch reservation form. You can select Save setup to display these dimensions every time that you open the form.

Batch attribute search

Open the Batch attribute search form to search for inventory batches that have certain attributes.

Batch history

Open the Batch history form to view a list of inventory batches that were previously shipped to customers for sales orders.

Inventory batch attributes

Open the Inventory batch attributes form to view a list of batch attributes for the selected inventory batch.

Reserve lot

Reserve the On order quantity or CW on order quantity against one or more available inventory batches based on the reservation criteria in the Inventory model group assigned to the item (FIFO, FEFO based on expiry date or best before date).

Reserve line

Reserve the On order quantity or CW on order quantity for the selected batch. If the On order quantity is larger than the Total available quantity, the whole Total available quantity is applied to the reservation. Otherwise, only that portion that is required to fill the order is reserved.

Reference

The originating reference source of the batch reservation request, such as a sales order.

Number

The identifier for the originating reference source.

Item number

The identification for the item.

Unit

The unit of measure for the item.

CW unit

The catch weight unit of measure for the item.

Physical reserved

The number of inventory units that are physically reserved for the current order.

CW physical reserved

The number of catch weight units that are physically reserved for the current order.

Ordered reserved

The number of ordered inventory units that are reserved for the current order

CW ordered reserved

The number of ordered catch weight units that are reserved for the current order.

On order

The number of inventory units on order for the current order.

CW on order

The number of catch weight units on order for the current order.

Site

The site associated with the warehouse. A site can have multiple warehouses assigned to it.

Warehouse

The warehouse in which the inventory batch is stored.

Batch number

The identification for the inventory batch.

Best before date

The date before which the inventory batch is best used. This date is calculated automatically based on the number of best before days deducted from the expiry date.

Expiration date

The date on which the inventory batch expires. This date is calculated automatically based on the manufacturing date and the shelf life days for the batch.

Physical inventory

The number of inventory units on hand in physical inventory for the selected batch.

CW physical inventory

The number of catch weight units on hand in physical inventory for the selected batch.

Physical reserved

The total quantity of the selected batch that is reserved on ordered receipts.

CW physical reserved

The total quantity in catch weight units of the selected batch that is reserved on ordered receipts.

Available physical

The number of available inventory units on hand in physical inventory for the selected batch.

CW available physical

The number of available catch weight units on hand in physical inventory for the selected batch.

Ordered

The number of inventory units ordered for the selected batch.

CW ordered

The number of catch weight units ordered for the selected batch.

Ordered reserved

The number of ordered items that are reserved for the selected batch.

CW ordered reserved

The number of ordered items in catch weight units that are reserved for the selected batch.

Available for reservation

The quantity that is available to be reserved.

CW total available

The catch weight physical quantity that is available, which includes ordered less ordered reservation.

Reservation

View or enter the quantity to be reserved from the total available for the selected batch.

Note

If you attempt to reserve inventory for an FEFO date-controlled item, and the requested ship date is after the item's best before or expiry date, you are prompted that the batch is either expired or is past its best before or expiry date.

CW reservation

View or enter the quantity in catch weight units to be reserved from the total available for the selected batch.

Reference

The type of reference from which the selected batch originated.

Number

The identifier for the reference from which the selected batch originated.

Packing slip

The identifier for the packing slip for the reference from which the selected batch originated.

Invoice

The identifier for the invoice for the reference from which the selected batch originated.

Receipt status

The receipt status of the inventory batch transaction for the reference from which the selected batch originated, for example, Purchased.

Status date

The date associated with the receipt status.

CW quantity

The quantity of units for the reference from which the selected batch originated.

Quantity

The quantity of units for the reference from which the selected batch originated.
