Edit timesheet (form)

Depending on your version of the program, do one of the following:

  • In Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2: Click Project management and accounting > Common > Timesheets > My timesheets. On the Action Pane, in the Maintain group, click Edit.

  • Otherwise: Home> Common > Timesheets > All timesheets. On the Action Pane, in the Maintain group, click Edit.

Use this form to change information in a project timesheet.

Modify or delete a timesheet (Project)

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Buttons

New line

Add a new line to the timesheet.

Remove

Remove a selected line from the timesheet.

Details

Open the Timesheet line details form to add or view timesheet details about activities and resources, billing, and financial dimensions.

Comments

Open the Timesheet line comments form to enter comments about hours that you entered in the project timesheet.

Copy from

Open a menu that contains the following items:

  • Timesheet – Create a new timesheet by copying information from a previously created project timesheet.

  • My favorites – Create a new timesheet by using project timesheet lines that have been saved as favorites.

Save as favorites

Save timesheet lines for future use in a new project timesheet.

Submit

Submit the timesheet to the approval workflow.

Note

The Submit button is only available when you create a new project timesheet.

Actions

Select a task that is related to the project timesheet workflow. The available options depend on the workflow status and user permissions.

Fields

Field

Description

Worker

The worker who is associated with the project timesheet. The system automatically enters the worker who is currently logged in. If you entering time for another worker, select the worker’s name.

Date

The date the project timesheet was created. To change the date, open the calendar.

Timesheet period

The current timesheet period. To create a timesheet in a different period, enter a date in the Date field that is in the period for which you want to enter hours.

Work week

The current work week. If a timesheet period includes multiple work weeks, all the work weeks are available in the list.

Approval status

The timesheet workflow status.

Timesheet total

The total hours entered on a timesheet.

Customer

The customer who is associated with the project for the timesheet.

Tip

You can also select the project first. If you do, the Customer field is filled in automatically.

Project

Select the project for which you are entering hours.

Activity

Select the activity that is associated with the project for which you are entering hours.

Category

Select the category that is associated with the hours.

Total

The total hours entered for the timesheet line.

Line property

Select a property for the task. By default, the field displays the default property that was set up for the task in the system.
