New case (form) [AX 2012]

Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Feature Pack, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012

Click Home > Common > Cases > All cases. Click the Case button in the New group to open the Create case form.

Use this form to create a new case.

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.




Enter a name for the case.

Case category

Select a category for the case.

Category type

View the category type that is associated with the selected category.

Case ID

View the case identification number.


Select the status of the case.


Enter a brief description of the case.


Select the case priority.

Parent case

Select a parent case, if applicable.


View the department or area in your company that owns the case.

Service level agreement

View the service level agreement that is associated with the customer, if applicable.

Employee responsible

View the employee who is responsible for the case.

Case process

View the case process that will be used on this case.


Enter a brief description of the case log.


Enter additional information about the case or the case log.
