Create prenotes (form) [AX 2012]

Click Cash and bank management > Periodic > Create prenotes.

Click Accounts receivable > Periodic > Create prenotes.

–or–

Click Accounts payable > Periodic > Create prenotes.

Use this form to create customer or vendor prenotes for your organization’s bank. For electronic payments, banks use prenotes to verify the accuracy of account data, such as routing numbers and account numbers.

Field

Description

Bank name

Select the name of your organization’s bank. This is the bank that the customer or vendor prenotes are created for.

File name

Select where to save the prenote file, and then enter the file name.

NoteNote

Be sure to save exported files in a folder that has appropriately restricted permissions. All batch jobs are run on the Application Object Server (AOS).

File type

Select the file type for the prenote file:

  • CCD

  • CTX

  • PPD

Check with your organization’s bank, if you do not know which file type to select; some banks prefer a specific file type.

Run on AOS

Select this check box to run the report on the AOS instead of on your computer. This option typically improves performance.

NoteNote

All batch jobs are run on the AOS. Before you run a batch job, verify that you have sufficient permissions to access and modify data on the AOS.

Account type

Select the type of account that the prenote is for.

  • All – Create prenotes for all customer and vendor accounts.

  • All customers – Create prenotes for all customer accounts.

  • All vendors – Create prenotes for all vendor accounts.

  • Customer – Create a prenote for only the specified customer account.

  • Vendor – Create a prenote for only the specified vendor account.

Account

Select the account that the prenote is for. This field is available only if you select Customer or Vendor as the account type.
