Inquire customer retained payments (form) [AX 2012]

Click Project management and accounting > Common > Projects > Project contracts. Open a project contract from the project contract list. In the Project contracts form, on the Action Pane, on the Control tab, in the Retention group, click Customer retained payments.

Use this form to see information about amounts that were withheld by customers from payments on project invoices. When progress on a project reaches a specified stage, any amounts that were withheld by the customer, also named customer retention amounts, are available to include in a project invoice.

If you are using Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Feature Pack or Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012, this form is available only if the Project Management and Accounting Add-in is installed.

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

After you select information in the filters, click Search to view customer retention amounts that meet the conditions in the search criteria.

Customer

Select a customer to view any amounts retained by the customer.

Project contract

Select a project contract for which you want to view customer retention details.

Project

Select a project for which you want to view customer retention details.

If you select a project contract, you can select only projects that are associated with the selected project contract.

Billing rule

Select a billing rule for which you want to see customer retention details.

NoteNote

If you select a project contract, you can select only a billing rule that is associated with the selected project contract.

Customer payment retention summary

View a summary of the customer retention amounts for the selected project or billing rule.

Funding sources

View a summary of customer retention amounts for funding sources that are associated with the project or billing rule.

Invoices

View a summary of the invoices that contain customer retention amounts for the selected project or billing rule.

Field

Description

Project/billing rule

If you select a project in the Filter section, the identification number of the project is displayed.

If you select a billing rule in the Filter section, the identification number of the billing rule is displayed.

Sales currency

The currency code that is used for the invoice.

Total invoice amount

The total amount on a project invoice for the selected project or billing rule.

Total retained amount

The total amount that is retained to date for the selected project or billing rule.

Total retained amount invoiced

The total retained amount that was added to customer invoices to date for the selected project or billing rule.

Remaining retained amount

The remaining customer retention amount, after subtracting any amount that was added to customer invoices.

Funding source

The identification number of the funding source for the project or billing rule.

Total invoice amount

The total amount of customer invoices for this funding source and selected project.

Total retained amount

The total amount that was retained by the funding source for the selected project or billing rule.

Total retained amount invoiced

The total retained amount that was added to prior invoices that have been sent to the selected funding source.

Remaining retained amount

The remaining customer retention amount for the selected funding source.

Total invoice amount

The total amount on the selected invoice.

Total retained amount

The total amount that was retained by the funding source on a project invoice.

Total retained amount invoiced

The total retained amount that was added to prior customer invoices for the selected project or billing rule.

Remaining retained amount

The accumulated customer retention amount, after subtracting any amounts that were released for payment by the customer, for the selected project or billing rule.
