Update best before dates (form)

Click Inventory management > Periodic > Batches > Update best before dates.

Use this form to change the best before date for multiple inventory batches based on a specified batch date.

Navigating the form

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Tab	Description
General	Specify the best before date and date calculation type for the batch job you want to run. You use the Select button on this tab to enter selection criteria for locating the inventory batches to include in the batch job.
Batch	Enter batch criteria to run a job or report to update the best before date for an inventory batch.

Tab	Description
Select	Open the standard Inquiry form to enter selection criteria to locate the inventory batches you want to include in the batch job. This button is available on the General tab.
Recurrence	Open the Recurrence form to set up a recurring pattern for the batch job. This button is available on the Batch tab.
Alerts	Open the Setup alert for batch job form to set up alert criteria for the batch job. This button is available on the Batch tab.

Field	Description
Date calculation type	Select the date calculation type. The values are as follows: System – The system recalculates the specified shelf life date criteria based on shelf life settings in the Item data field group on the Manage inventory FastTab in the Released product details form. Fixed – The shelf advice date is set to the exact date you specify.
Best before date	Select the new best before date for the inventory batch.
Batch number	The identification for the inventory batch used in the search query.
Item number	The identification for the item used in the search query.
Batch date	The date of the inventory batch used in the search query.
Item group	The identification for the item group used in the search query.
